Wine Labels:
Ice-Bucket Tested · Cellar-Rated
Engineered for 48-hour ice-bucket submersion, 70% cellar humidity, and TTB-compliant government warning placement. Gold foil, varietal color conventions, and Estate #8 paper for premium shelf presence.
Saint-Véran
Built for Cellars, Restaurants, and Retail Shelves
Wine labels face a uniquely hostile environment: humid cellars, chlorinated restaurant ice baths, fluorescent retail lighting, and strict federal labeling rules. Materials and adhesives chosen without testing for these conditions flag, peel, or bleed before the bottle reaches the glass.
Use Cases
Still and sparkling wine, estate-bottled varietals, rosé, dessert, fortified wines, and spirits.
Paper & Film
Estate #8 and #9 textured papers for tradition; White BOPP and Silver PET for ice-bucket durability.
Compliance
TTB-mandated brand, class, alcohol percentage, net contents, and government warning layout.
Decoration
Six foil colors: gold, rose gold, champagne, silver, copper, and holographic for limited releases.
What Makes a Wine Label Different?
A wine label is the only marketing material guaranteed to be submerged in ice water, stored at 55–70% humidity for years, and regulated by the federal government. The combination of condensation, adhesive migration, and TTB compliance makes material choice more consequential than for nearly any other product category.
The right material pairing also signals category. Burgundy and Bordeaux drinkers expect an uncoated Estate #8 face sheet with tactile texture; rosé and sparkling labels often use clear-on-clear BOPP for the "no-label" premium look; spirit bottles lean toward Silver PET with gold foil accents. Varietal conventions matter on the shelf.

6 Materials · 5 Performance Criteria
Every wine-label material is laboratory-tested against the conditions that determine pass/fail: ice-bucket submersion, cellar humidity, foil adhesion, conformability to curved glass, and TTB-compliant print clarity.

Tradition Meets Performance
Varietals carry shelf expectations — Pinot Noir drinkers look for Estate texture; Prosecco buyers expect a clear, modern no-label look. Match the material to the wine, not the other way around.

Four Steps to a Shelf-Ready Wine Label
Compliance review happens early — COLA-precise typography and government warning placement are locked before press proof. No one wants to discover a TTB rejection after 10,000 labels are printed.
Quote & Compliance Brief
Share bottle dimensions, varietal, target markets (US/EU/UK), and annual volume. We confirm TTB layout, COLA-required fields, and material pick within one business day.
Day 1Press-Ready Proof
Digital proof with TTB field overlay, government warning at mandated minimum type size, and varietal color match. Foil and embossing shown as separations for sign-off.
Days 2–4Print & Decorate
HP Indigo digital press for variable vintages and lot numbers; hot-stamp foiling in gold, rose, champagne, silver, copper, or holographic; optional tactile varnish and embossing.
Days 5–10Ship & Cellar-Ready
Labels ship on rolls (machine-applied) or fanfold (hand-applied), packed in moisture-resistant cartons. Ice-bucket test certificates included for BOPP/PET runs.
Days 11–14Three Tests Every Wine Label Must Pass
Wine labels are graded against three failure modes: the ice bucket at the restaurant table, the long-term cellar, and the federal inspector. Lab protocols below.
48-Hour Submersion
- White BOPP
- Clear BOPP
- Silver PET
- Estate #8 (paper fibers absorb)
- Brown Kraft (cooking-wine grade only)
Humidity & Adhesion
- Estate #8 with wet-strength treatment
- All BOPP and PET variants
Label Layout Review
Every proof ships with a TTB overlay. COLA submission artworks provided on request.
