Questions

Product Label FAQ

Six questions product brands ask before ordering custom labels.

BOPP (biaxially-oriented polypropylene) is the workhorse film for most retail products — water-resistant, oil-resistant, and cost-effective from 500 pieces. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is specified when applications demand higher heat resistance (up to 200°C), tensile strength, or dimensional stability under stress — typical for hot-fill containers, automotive chemicals, and premium bottles. PET costs roughly 20-30% more than BOPP for the same size and quantity.

Standard MOQ is 500 pieces for BOPP, PET, paper, and kraft labels, and 250 pieces for vinyl labels. Sample orders below MOQ are available on request — use the quote form to describe your project and we will route it to the right production line.

Standard production runs 2-4 business days after artwork approval. Foil stamping adds 2-3 days. Worldwide tracked shipping via air freight typically adds 5-10 business days depending on destination. Rush production (24-48 hours) is available for an additional fee — request it when submitting your quote.

BOPP, PET, and vinyl films are fully waterproof and survive immersion, condensation, and ice-bath exposure. Paper and kraft labels are not waterproof unless laminated — for damp environments we recommend either switching to BOPP or adding a polypropylene lamination to paper labels to extend service life.

Minimum 300 DPI for photographic artwork and gradients. For fine text, barcodes, or QR codes, supply artwork at 600 DPI to ensure scan reliability and edge crispness. Vector PDF (Illustrator or SVG) is preferred for type-heavy labels and any foil-stamped artwork — vector files have no resolution limit and reproduce cleanly at any size.

Permanent acrylic adhesive is standard for retail product labels that must stay attached through shipping, retail display, and the full product lifecycle. Removable adhesive is specified for promotional stickers, sample labels, and reusable containers — it leaves no residue for up to 6 months after application but is not recommended for long-term outdoor exposure. Choose based on whether the end user needs to peel the label off cleanly.
