Water, oil & scratch resistant for bathroom & vanity

Foil cosmetic labels are pressure-stamped metallic foil labels produced on substrates engineered for beauty packaging — typically Clear BOPP, White BOPP or PET films that resist water, oil and daily handling. Real hot foil stamping (gold, rose gold, silver, holographic) creates a premium metallic accent that holds up on bathroom shelves, in shower environments and on small curved bottles where paper labels fail.

Applications

Best cosmetic applications

The packaging types we label most often for beauty, skincare and personal-care brands.

Skincare Bottles

Serum droppers, glass toners, mist bottles and treatment bottles. Clear BOPP gives the no-label premium look; White BOPP is the durable workhorse.

Cream Jars

Face cream, eye cream and body butter jars. White BOPP resists oils from the product and repeated handling at the vanity or spa.

Lipstick & Lip Gloss Tubes

Small-diameter cylindrical packaging that needs precise label geometry and a substrate that conforms without lifting.

Perfume Bottles

Premium glass perfume and cologne bottles. Clear PET or textured paper paired with gold or silver foil for an ultra-premium shelf presence.

Essential Oil Bottles

Small amber or clear glass dropper bottles. Oil-resistant substrates and tight label sizing for 5–30 ml bottles.

Shampoo & Body Wash

High-moisture shower environment. White BOPP is the standard choice — waterproof, scratch-resistant and squeeze-friendly.

Lotion & Pump Bottles

Hand lotion, body lotion and treatment pumps. Moisture-resistant labels sized to fit curved pump bottles.

Makeup Compacts

Powder, blush, eyeshadow and palette compacts. Small foil-stamped accent labels for the brand mark or shade name.

Soap Packaging

Wrapper labels, band labels and box labels for bar soap. Paper or BOPP depending on moisture exposure.

Materials

Material recommendations by packaging

Choosing the right substrate is the single biggest decision for a cosmetic label. These are the pairings we recommend most often.

The Foil Studio

Four metallic foils for beauty brands

Real hot-stamped metallic foil — not printing, not foil-effect ink. Each swatch below shimmers live.

Gold Foil

Classic luxury for premium skincare and fragrance. The default for high-end beauty.

Rose Gold Foil

The beauty-category favorite. Soft, feminine, modern — pairs naturally with skincare and cosmetics.

Silver Foil

Cool, clean and clinical. Pairs with minimalist, dermatologist-grade skincare.

Holographic Foil

Color-shifting metallic for trend-driven and Gen-Z beauty brands that need shelf impact.

How It's Made

Real hot foil stamping, in three steps

A heated die presses metallic foil film onto the label substrate under pressure. The result is genuine metal — not ink — that won't fade, peel or scuff.

1

Engrave the Die

A custom brass die is engraved with your foil artwork — reversed, so the imprint reads correctly on the label.

2

Press & Heat

The heated die presses foil film against the label substrate. Heat and pressure transfer only the foil that touches the artwork.

3

Peel & Reveal

The carrier film lifts away, leaving a brilliant metallic imprint bonded to the label. The finished roll moves to finishing.

Performance

Cosmetic label performance requirements

The functional baseline every cosmetic label must meet before it ships.

Water Resistance

Must survive bathroom humidity, shower splash and product residue without edge-lifting or ink bleed.

Oil Resistance

Creams, serums and essential oils contact the label surface. BOPP and PET films resist oil migration.

Scratch Resistance

Daily handling, vanity storage and shipping must not scuff the foil or print. Lamination adds protection.

Curved Bottle Adhesion

Small bottles and tapered tubes require a film and adhesive that lays flat without flagging.

Small Text Readability

Beauty labels carry tiny ingredient and usage text. Print resolution and contrast must hold up at small sizes.

Ingredient Panel Clarity

The back-panel ingredient list and batch codes must stay legible through the product's shelf life.

Barcode / QR Readability

Scannable at retail checkout and on phones. We verify contrast and quiet zones before production so your barcode never fails a scan.

Brand Direction

Five brand style directions we produce most

From clean clinical to luxury black-and-gold — pick a direction and we'll match foil, substrate and finish to it.

CLINIC

Clean Clinical Skincare

White substrate, sans-serif type, restrained silver or gloss foil accent. Reads as dermatologist-grade.

NOIR

Luxury Black & Gold

Black substrate with gold foil — the most dramatic combination for premium fragrance and night-care lines.

Botanica

Natural Botanical Beauty

Textured or kraft paper with copper/gold foil accents. Illustrations of leaves, flowers or seeds.

Soft

Soft Pastel Beauty

Pastel backgrounds with rose gold foil — the default for feminine, lifestyle-driven beauty brands.

PURE

Minimal Transparent

Clear BOPP + foil accent only — lets the product color show through for a modern no-label look.

Artwork Prep

How to separate your foil artwork

Send artwork as two layers: a full-color print layer and a separate foil-only layer (solid black where foil applies, white elsewhere). We use the foil layer to make the brass die.

AURÉSKINCARE
Layer 01

Full-color print artwork — everything that will be printed in ink on the label substrate.

AURÉSKINCARE
Layer 02 · Foil

Separate foil-only layer — 100% black where foil applies, white elsewhere. Used to engrave the die.

AURÉSKINCARE
Final Result

Printed label with real gold foil stamped on top — a metallized brand mark that won't fade or scuff.

Practical Guidance

Artwork & compliance notes

Practical guidance so your labels look right and stay compliant on the shelf.

1

Keep Ingredient Text Readable

Beauty labels carry mandatory ingredient panels. Use a high-contrast ink color and avoid printing ingredients in foil.

2

Separate the Foil Layer

Supply foil artwork as a separate vector layer (100% black where foil applies, white elsewhere) so the die can be made cleanly.

3

Avoid Tiny Foil Text

Foil is stamped under pressure — very thin strokes or small fonts fill in. Keep foil text at a recommended minimum stroke weight.

4

Use White Ink on Clear Labels

On clear film, light ink colors need a white underprint layer to stay visible — otherwise they disappear on the product.

5

Confirm Label Size Before Printing

Beauty packaging geometries vary widely. Confirm exact bottle/jar/tube dimensions with a sample before we make the die.

Questions

Foil cosmetic label FAQ

Answers to the questions beauty brands ask before ordering.

Can foil labels be used on skincare bottles?

Yes. Foil labels on Clear BOPP, White BOPP or PET adhere firmly to smooth glass and plastic skincare bottles and resist moisture from daily bathroom or salon use. The foil accent stays intact through normal handling.

Are foil cosmetic labels waterproof?

Foil cosmetic labels on White BOPP, Clear BOPP and PET films are water-resistant and oil-resistant, which makes them suitable for skincare, bath and shower products that contact water or oils. Paper-based foil labels are best reserved for dry outer packaging such as boxes or cartons.

Can I print white ink with gold foil?

Yes. We can print a white ink layer on clear film and then apply gold foil on top — a popular technique for transparent cosmetic packaging where a no-label look is desired but the brand needs a metallic accent.

What material works on curved cosmetic bottles?

Clear BOPP and White BOPP are the best choices for curved or tapered cosmetic bottles because the film conforms tightly to the surface without lifting at the edges. We also adjust label size and shape to match the bottle geometry.

Can I use rose gold foil for beauty packaging?

Yes. Rose gold foil is one of the most popular choices for beauty packaging because the soft pink-toned metallic pairs naturally with skincare, cosmetics and feminine beauty brands. It works well on clear film, white BOPP and textured paper.
